Sedation and general anaesthesia

For long or major surgical operations, we offer anaesthesia by sedation or even general anaesthesia at the clinic.

Conducted and monitored by our FMH-accredited anaesthetist specialist, these acts require preparation and additional monitoring.

Periodontology

The periodontium, tooth supporting tissue, consists of the gingiva and the alveolar bone encompassing the dental roots.

Gingivitis, slight inflammation of bacterial origin of the gums around the teeth or implants can be reversible. This requires regular hygiene care. Untreated gingivitis can degenerate into periodontitis, greater involvement characterised by irreversible bone loss. Without treatment the teeth can move and eventually fall out. Periodontitis is a multifactorial disease influenced amongst others by the accumulation of tartar, plaque and tobacco smoke.

Our hygienists have a vital role in preventing periodontal disease and regular monitoring is essential to maintain a healthy oral condition.

Endodontics (root canal treatment)

Endodontics treats the inside of the tooth: the pulp and periradicular tissues (surrounding the root). Designed to treat and prevent infections in these areas, it preserves teeth that could be permanently lost.

In our clinic, Doctor Milanka Planinic conducts the vast majority of root canal treatments. She has extensive experience in this area from working for several years in the endodontic division of the University of Geneva, Dental Medicine Section.

Implant

The replacement of a tooth with an implant is now a reliable treatment option. However, it is necessary to have a suitable recipient bone site, to ensure strength and durability to the implant. According to recent statistics the success rate of implants in 10 years in the non-smoker is between 90 and 95%.

We have over fifteen years of experience.
