We col­lab­o­rate with the Ciriza J Den­tal SA lab­o­ra­to­ry in Gland for all pros­thet­ic work. The lab­o­ra­to­ry is com­posed of sev­er­al tech­ni­cians, each with their own speci­fici­ty. This allows us to ensure tech­ni­cal work of the high­est qual­i­ty, com­bin­ing aes­thet­ics and pre­ci­sion.

 

The peri­odon­tium, tooth sup­port­ing tis­sue, con­sists of the gin­gi­va and the alve­o­lar bone encom­pass­ing the den­tal roots.

Gin­givi­tis, slight inflam­ma­tion of bac­te­ri­al orig­in of the gums around the teeth or implants can be reversible. This requires reg­u­lar hygiene care. Untreat­ed gin­givi­tis can degen­er­ate into peri­odon­ti­tis, greater involve­ment char­ac­terised by irre­versible bone loss. With­out treat­ment the teeth can move and even­tu­al­ly fall out. Peri­odon­ti­tis is a mul­ti­fac­to­ri­al dis­ease influ­enced amongst oth­ers by the accu­mu­la­tion of tar­tar, plaque and tobac­co smoke.

Our hygien­ists have a vital role in pre­vent­ing peri­odon­tal dis­ease and reg­u­lar mon­i­tor­ing is essen­tial to main­tain a healthy oral con­di­tion.

Exam­ple of guid­ed bone regen­er­a­tion of deep peri­odon­tal pock­et:

Endodon­tics treats the inside of the tooth: the pulp and peri­radic­u­lar tis­sues (sur­round­ing the root). Designed to treat and pre­vent infec­tions in the­se areas, it pre­serves teeth that could be per­ma­nent­ly lost.

In our clin­ic, Doc­tor Milanka Planinic con­ducts the vast major­i­ty of root canal treat­ments. She has exten­sive expe­ri­ence in this area from work­ing for sev­er­al years in the endodon­tic divi­sion of the Uni­ver­si­ty of Geneva, Den­tal Med­i­cine Sec­tion.

 

 

 

The replace­ment of a tooth with an implant is now a reli­able treat­ment option. How­ev­er, it is nec­es­sary to have a suit­able recip­i­ent bone site, to ensure strength and dura­bil­i­ty to the implant. Accord­ing to recent sta­tis­tics the suc­cess rate of implants in 10 years in the non-smok­er is between 90 and 95%.

For large cav­i­ty den­tal restora­tions, ceram­ic onlays or inlays are car­ried out by our den­tal tech­ni­cian. This type of indi­rect fill­ing allows the den­tist to ensure a safe and aes­thet­ic result in com­par­ison to con­ven­tion­al com­pos­ites.

 

  

  

 

 

CROWN:

In case of sig­nif­i­cant den­tal sub­stance loss (cav­i­ty, frac­ture, for­mer treat­ment…), the tooth must be ful­ly cov­ered by a crown. We work with ful­ly ceram­ic crowns (Emax). In addi­tion to their unde­ni­able aes­thet­ic qual­i­ties, they exhibit func­tion­al char­ac­ter­is­tics and first-class dura­bil­i­ty.

BRIDGE:

A bridge is used to main­tain one or more arti­fi­cial teeth rest­ing on pil­lars or den­tal implants. It is a fixed and irre­mov­able den­tal pros­the­sis. Long used in our pro­fes­sion, the bridge is now increas­ing­ly replaced by implants.

 

Veneers are thin porce­lain shells used as a sub­sti­tute to replace or cov­er part of the tooth enam­el. Sig­nif­i­cant colour and/or shape changes enable per­fect aes­thet­ic results.

    

    

  

  

Com­pos­ite resins have been steadi­ly replac­ing den­tal amal­gams for a cou­ple of years now. Applied direct­ly to the tooth sub­stance loss­es they restore func­tion and aes­thet­ics.

A very large palet­te of colours enables a per­fect result.

 

 

 

 

The teeth whiten­ing process is an appli­ca­tion of hydro­gen per­ox­ide in var­i­ous chem­i­cal forms. This safe and preser­v­a­tive treat­ment should be per­formed by a den­tist, as the con­cen­tra­tions of hydro­gen per­ox­ide may be sig­nif­i­cant.
